Dacia’s Gluten Free Homemade Tacos

1 pound low fat ground beef (or chicken or turkey)

½ can Del Monte petite cut tomatoes with jalapeños

2 heaping Tbsp diced green chilies

1 cup chopped frozen onions, thawed

¼ tsp paprika

1 tsp cumin, more to taste

1 tsp chili powder, more to taste

½ tsp salt

½ tsp black pepper, adjust to taste

½ rounded tsp crushed garlic (2 cloves or ¼ tsp powder)

1 tsp fresh chili paste (Target produce section) or ½ tsp crushed red pepper flakes

½ cup water

Brown the meat with onions in skillet.  Use a small amount of oil if meat is very lean.   Add remaining ingredients and simmer until thickened.

Serve with taco shell, lettuce, tomatoes and cheese.
