M & M Drop Sugar Cookies

1 1/3 cups gluten free all purpose flour

3/4 tsp baking powder

1/4 tsp salt

1/2 tsp xanthan gum

1/2 cup butter

1 cup sugar

1 egg

1 tsp vanilla extract

1/2 cup mini M & Ms

Combine flour, baking powder, and salt.  In a large bowl, beat butter and sugar until light and fluffy.  Beat in egg and vanilla until blended.  Reduce speed to low.  Beat in flour mixture just until combined. Stir in M & Ms.  Drop dough by heaping teaspoons on ungreased cookie sheets.  Bake in a 350 F oven until edges are browned about 10-12 minutes.  Remove cookies from baking sheet immediately.  Adapted from Good Housekeeping Favorite Recipes
